biography

elf tv is the stage name of Toronto musician Adi O. Her music has been described as “dream rock,” with ethereal yet catchy songs that sound like a cross between the Smashing Pumpkins and Cat Power.

In 2012 she released her self-titled debut EP, accompanied by a music video for the track, Up Late. The EP received airplay on over 20 college and community radio stations across Canada, reaching the Top 30 on several of them. All four songs received airplay, and Helium charted as high as no. 2 on CFUR Radio in Prince George, British Columbia.

elf tv has performed at numerous venues in Toronto, including El Mocambo, Supermarket, Cameron House, The Sister, Statler’s Lounge, Poor Alex Theatre, Cadillac Lounge, Reverb, Free Times Cafe, Graffiti’s, Liberty Bistro, Black Swan, Not My Dog and Clinton’s. In 2009, elf tv appeared on That Channel’s flagship program, Liquid Lunch, where she performed early versions of Helium and Big Bad Wolf. Whether playing for a crowd of 20 or 200 people, elf tv’s performances never lose the intimacy that many artists can only achieve in a small venue. Her music retains an element of honesty and integrity that is both refreshing and captivating.
